Topology Research.Here I’m going to post some wireframe example of my work. Normally I plan the topology after that all sculpting work is done. and I try to use basically quad topology with a correct edge flow. For a long time I used 3dMax with polyboost (the new Graphite tollset) for retopology, but now I use 3dCoat most the times. Normally I start defining the flow for the detail, starting with concentrical edge loop around the main circular shapes, than I define the main connection flow, and then I stich the different part and refine the models.
Quick 3d sketches, done as test or experiment for certain workflow. Most of them are Zbrush, and some are 3d CoatDuring the past few years the tecnology changed a lot, so is very important to keep studing. Right now I can’t say anymore which is my favourite software for modeling Usually if I have to bild a complex character I use basically M3d Max, because I really appreciate the stack system, wich allow me to have really procedural warkflow, for mechanichal part and assembling everything. But my process usually start with Z brush, In wich I start leyng out shape and gesture, with sketching tools, Than I swap to photoshop, to start conceptualize details and so on, than I go back to Zbrush Max, or 3dCoat and after that I breakout the main Idea, I use the best tool That I have for the specific piece. Than I resemble everything in maya.
War Drone_ That model is actually in development. I planned to build up A digital robotic character, full of rig, to use it for some render test. I started from a 3d sketch, because of the complexity of this guy (like 12 limbs) than Iskipped to Photoshop (with the help of a freind of mine, Simone Denti) to better defining the idea before starting the real model.
That’ a collection of my sketches, most of them are basic pencil or wonderfoul biro Bic, and most of them quite old stuff.
